Witch brand of cat litter do you use?

I use CatSan. Its the most expensive but non other works. The cheaper supermarket varieties clump and stick together, yucky !! They also don't absorb the odour very well.

Perhaps if I had 1 or 2 kits I wouldn't notice the difference so much.

Anyway it got me wondering..

What cat litter do you use, and also, if you don't mind why?

I use P@H 30 litre sack of wood pellets for £8.99 you can't go wrong!

I put Cotton on it as soon as she came to me and she won't use anything else.

Never tried wood pellets. Sorry for the blunt question but... don't they absorb the urine and smell??

Yes! They 'dissolve' essentially. Never had any foul smells except when cleaning it out

Re: Witch brand of cat litter do you use?

Oops I ment doesn't it smell. I thoguht the urine would be absorbed into the wood and it would reek. Interesting. That sounds very cheap. A lot cheaper than what I'm using. I'm just a little worried because when those babies start needing the tray.

I'm going to be going through a sack of catsan every 1-3 days and that WON'T be cheap!!!

Ouch!!

For now why not get some of the litter that's made from wheat? Can't remember the name sorry. If they eat it (which they probably will) it won't hurt them.

And when they're older switch them over!

Don't go for the crystal based ones! I tried it and all I got was crystal litter everywhere and a river of pee at the bottom of the tray

Re: Witch brand of cat litter do you use?

I don't know if they have it in the UK, but The World's Best Cat Litter is amazing. I just tried my first bag and I am completely impressed. Not only does the litter box not smell, it smells nice! And I don't need the deodorizer on top of it. It completely dessicates the poo to the point where I believe it would be powdery if I chopped at it with the scooper. And the clumps of pee are hard and not stinky, not still moist and claylike inside. I cannot praise this stuff enough, and I was a bit suspicious given the wild claims of the name. I think it might be one of those wheat based things--it says it's safe for kittens and I know there's zero dust when I dumped it in the litter box.
