Oh no there's something up with Harry's eye... :(

Oh no! I thought he was squinting but then when I looked he stopped, so didnt worry til now...
OH was cooking onions so thought it could be that a bit, both the cats and we were squinting both eyes....
Then I noticed the pupil of beautiful Harry's right eye seems to be a little glassy, rather than black and he really is squinting
Think he must have scratched it or something... Doesn't look infected particularly but is a little watery.
Made an app at the vet tomo morning - has any one had this with their cats? Please only tell me if the result wasn't that the cat went blind...

Re: Oh no there's something up with Harry's eye... :(

I have had three experiences of this -

Once was a doggie who turned out to have an eye ulcer. She was given cream and it got better .

The next time was with kittens who just played too rough. (Usually in the boys )

And another and certainly not to be ruled out in little kittens is conjunctivitis.

I am sure there are plenty of other courses to squinty watery eyes so very pleased you are taken Mr Harry to a vet.

I bet its probably just a bit of a scratch but its very important to get things checked over especially in the young ones!

Yay, he's fine!
Went to the vet this morning, cost £32 incl a prescription for fucithalmic stuff:/
He opened his eye. dropped in the "disclosing" stuff and I pulled out what looked like one of his sister's hairs!
The "glassy" eye has gone straight away and it doesn't look infected at all!
Looks like it was just the hair, but I'm gonna use some chloramphenicol ointment 1% that we've got (I rang and checked, vet said that's fine) so that'll save me the price of the prescription, leaving me to pay £23 for the consultation. Oh well, I'm glad that I've had a vet tell me that he's definitely not gona go blind, that's worth every penny for me
