advise needed please

Hi - Right one of my cats has cysitis and has started to pee on my front and backdoor matt as well as my rug. I say my rug but i live with my parents so they are not mine which is making matters worse as it is really stressing me out. Also my male cat has started to get really aggressive towards my cat who has cysitis. Last night he went for me when i tried to stop him from attacking her.The vet said it may be beacuse of her smell changing due to being ill . What i am asking is a - is there anything to stop cats weeing where the shouldnt and b- do you think my other cat is doing this because he does not like her smell??
Sorry for rambling but this is really stressing me

Re: advise needed please

Once the cystitis is cleared up she should stop weeing everywhere. We have an old boy who gets this occasionally.

It may be worth you buying some more litter trays for the areas she's using.

I take it both your cats are spayed? Her cystitis may also be ideopathic and stress related - especially if the male is giving her a hard time. It may be an idea to invest in a couple of plug in Feliway diffusers to help her feel a little calmer and may be put some Bachs Rescue Remedy in their water. Clean any areas where she has peed with biological detergent and try using some of this spray
Urine-Hater. Eliminates Urine & Pet Odours - £9.99 : Pinky Pawz - Simply ... the cats whiskers!, Pinky Pawz - Simply ... the cats whiskers!
This really helps eliminate any odours and hopefully stop her going back to the same place.

Good luck - let us know how she gets on.

Re: advise needed please

I would get a small bottle with a spray nozzle on the top, fill it with water and when he goes near her just spray him. It won't hurt him and he won't know it's come from you.
Sometimes my young cat Harley gets a bit rough with my 2 fifteen year old cats and that's what i do. He just runs off.
Other than that you could put her in another room for a couple of days so she can rest up. It's cold and damp now and probably won't want to go out.
I think if we were poorly and somebody was stressing us out we would want to be on our own for a bit.
Hope she will feel better soon.

Yes they are both spayed. He has never been so nasty to her up untill now bless her. I think i will def try the feliway and urine hater spray as i already clean with bio detergent and this is not doing the job alone. I think the cysitis may have been caused by fireworks as she hates them but is 3yrs old and never had this problem before.
Thank you for you advise

The vet thinks cysitis may be caused by stress so thats why i am really worried about it. As for spraying him with water it is a good idea and im willing to give anything a go only thing is he loves water so wont hold my breath!! Thanks for your advice

Re: advise needed please

Our Bengals love water but they still don't like being sprayed, I always keep a spray bottle handy for when they try to go behind the TV.
