Re: 7month kitten has been hospitalised!!

Tosca came home last night. He is on stomorgryl and metpharm anti inflammatorys as well as his conjunctivitus antibiotics. He is very lethargic but is eating ok. He came and cuddled up with me in bed last night. His blood test results are back tomorrow and his swab test results will be back next week. The vet wants to see him tomorrow to see how he is. I am taking my other kitty with me as well as his sneezing is bad. Will keep you all updated!!

Re: 7month kitten has been hospitalised!!

I took both kittys to the vet today. Toscas temperature is now normal. The vet said he has not developed any more ulcers. I mentioned in my earlier post that he was on an anti inflammatory called Metapharm.. Sorry I got that wrong it is called Metacam....My head was in pieces last night after a stressful day at work and with Tosca being ill! He gets his results back next week.. He is due back at the vets next Thursday evening. He has a lot of dribble around his mouth because of the ulcers. It smells bad because of the bacteria! I feel so awful for him!! Sammy has been checked and he is fine! Thank god!!

glad he is home, sounds like he's on the road to recovery now. I'm sure he will be fine and the ulcers should heal soon.

I have had a call from my vet and Tosca has got Calici. He starts his first course of treatment next Monday!

Re: 7month kitten has been hospitalised!!

What treatment are they giving him? Calici is very common and they can eventually rid their systems of the virus. If he still has ulcers, babies homeopathic teething granules/powder can help relieve the problem, although his metacam should help. Its good news his temp is down, he does sound as though he is coming out the other side of it.
