my vet is faraway so its not practical to go and get wormer tabs from there, what brands can i get from the petshop etc that are effective, i have read to avoid bob martin stuff

Drontal and Panacur are sold by pharmacies and pet shops nowadays...

thanks for the reply, ill give the petshops a try and see what brands they have, i never thought a chemist would stock them is it any chemist or places ike boots.

I don't know about Boots - we don't have one nearby, but I've noticed small independent pharmacies do... in my area that's the Rowlands chain, or where my mother lives just the single independent chemist in her town.

You can also try horse feed merchants, I got some Panacur in one of those during the summer. P @ H also stock these wormers but the online place is cheaper with no P&P.
