Re: runny poo

Hi

Take them off the cat food for 24-48 hours and feed them only cooked chicken with a little boiled rice mixed in and/or if available cooked white fish - again with a little boiled rice. Put a few tablespoons of boiled water over the chicken or fish to ensure they are kept hydrated. Introduce the cat food slowly over the following days - just small regular amounts.

Do you have a vet nearby at all you can take them to?

Good luck - let us know how you get on.

Re: runny poo

he needs to see a vet - this is just a forum and mucha s we like to give advice we can't diagnose a pet over the internet - if he is hot, has the runs and is listless something more is at play and he needs a vet.

Re: runny poo

Thats good. Did the vet recommend disprin? I didn't know cats could have it thats interesting. What was wrong with them, was it gastro or something?

Re: runny poo

he didnt go to the vet. but i have another 2 cats that are about 4 months old and when they were about 5 weeks old the one was also bit down and it was as if his bones were sensitive. he would just lay there while his brother played with him so we also gave him aome antibiotics and disprin 3 times a day and in les then 6 hours he was full of life and fine.

so to me the little bit of disprin and antibiotics have helped 2 of my babies so i think ill stick to that till we get a propper vet. when there is no help avalable you need to make ur own plan

thanks again for the help

Re: runny poo

Who gave you the antibiotics, are they actually for cats or humans if you didn't see a vet? And I don't know for sure but disprin may be harmful to an animal, they need specific medications you shouldn't self diagnose and decide your own treatment.

Re: runny poo

if there is no help should we then just leave the kitten or whatever animal to go its own way and prob die? many of my animals have had this and today they are all healthy happy pets. we are in a unfortunate situation were there isnt much help for animals and we tri help where we can.

sometimes some 'boere raad' works better then a qualified vet? this is just my opinion and i wish we could give our pets the best but that isnt always possible no matter how much we love them.
