Do white cats have shorter lifespans than black cats? I have a white cat with one blue eye and one brown eye. This morning someone said that white cats only live around six years and that got me thinking back to another white cat I had years ago who only lived to be about seven. Does anyone have (or had) an old white cat? My white cat (called LG) is about eight years old.

The only difference, as far as I know, is that white cats are more prone to deafness than cats of other colours, something to do with a lack of pigment in the inner ear.

i saw a website once with one who had lived to 17 so i think they live just the same

My mom has a pure white moggy, she is 14 and fit as a fiddle

My sister has a pure white cat & she's 11, the only prob she's had is cancer on the tips of her ears & she had 2 have both her ears amputated a mth ago.
