Worming Help

Hi,

I have an 11wk old Kitten who i got from a rescue centre 2 weeks ago.
On the Form it says she had Panacur 1st, 2nd, 3rd Sept and 1st, 2nd, 3rd October.
Does anyone know how often she should be wormed or when she will be next due to be wormed ? as i have not got a clue and was concerned she might be due worming soon??

Many Thanks

Re: Worming Help

When we got Dorrie we took her to the vets and she was weighed. She had to have half a tablet every 2 weeks until she was 3 months old.

Re: Worming Help

Many Thanks for replying.
That's what i read on the internet they have it every two weeks,
That's why i'm confused (or maybe me being thick) as it says she had 3 lots beginning September then 3 lots beginning October. So im worried she maybe due some as i have had her two weeks.
I would give the rescue centre a call today but unfortunately they are closed.
Thanks again

Re: Worming Help

If you are still unsure then maybe you could give your vets a ring too.

Re: Worming Help

I use panacur paste which should be used for 3 consecutive days at 2wks, 4wks, 6wks, 8wks, 12wks then monthly worming

I would say she next needs worming 29th, 30th and 31st October

You will need to weigh her so she gets the right dose

Re: Worming Help

Yeah with panacur you give it over 3 days, but you could just get something like drontal and then its all done with one pill. i find panacur very confusing to dose, I use it as I cant give pills darnit!

Re: Worming Help

Many Thanks for the good advice. i'm less confused now.
I will give the rescue centre a ring tommorow just to double check when she's due and to see exactly what type of panacur she had as from what i have seen on the internet there are a few different types of it.
Thanks again for all your help

Re: Worming Help

Hi nurseberyl,
Just seen your post after i replied. Thanks for advice
know what you mean about panacur being confusing, mind you i find the whole thing confusing, when we previously had cats they only had a pill, never knew there was so much choice with worming lol

Re: Worming Help

I use Pancur and I give it over 3 days once a month e.g

1st, 2nd and 3rd of September then 1st, 2nd and 3rd of October and so on.
