Re: HELP! ill Maine Coon Kitten

Thank you all again its very quiet here today I think the oldies & our 2 dogs are missing him to.

What is L-Lysine? I am a bit worryed about our other cats (good old fashond mogs) could they be at risk from FIP aswell we have 3 that are 11 & Simba who is 15 they all seem healthy but I cant help being paranoid that they may come down with it.

Our vet said not to worry as they would have shown symtoms by now if they have caught anything.

We were so carefull with Merlin we have a large dog crate which we put him in when we first got him so he could meet the other cats & the 2 dogs without getting to stressed on top of his move here.

His breeder blameing herself as apparently he was in contact with her new stud cat which has since got symtoms of cat flu but is ok Merlin was the only kitten who met this cat so possible that was the cause as it sort of fits in with the time scale of meeting the stud & becomeing ill within a fourtnight of us bringing him home.

She has been very kind & offered us another kitten from another litter sometime in the future if we would like one - cant even think about that at the moment & if we did could the same thing happen or is it a lottery? She has never had this problem before & neither have we so if we did decide in the future to get another kitten even if it wasnt from the same breeder our other cats have now been incontact with FIP I would hate to think they could then make any future cat ill.

I know this is all if buts & may b's & there maybe no answers but after loosing two fantastic Maine Coons this year I am scared of even contemplating another but love the breed so much.

Thanks for reading & all your thoughts x
