Possible arthritus(sp)

Hi,

As some of you know Sandy had a rather nasty accident resulting in two bad breaks to his leg in February. He has recovered well and has even done a few shows since.

Last night I noticed he had a slight limp to that foot.I am just wondering if perhaps the colder weather could be a factor. I was also warned about arthritis possibly being an issue after the break. Does anyone know of any supplements that can help with his joints, I don't want him in discomfort all through the winter. I am taking him for a check up to ensure there are no issues with the leg. They also warned me a second op maybe necessary at some point to remove the pins, they could not do that recently as it had taken so long for the break to mend.

Thanks for listening.

Izzie

Re: Possible arthritus(sp)

My mothers 14 yr old cat is showing signs of arthritis and symptoms have certainly worsened recently. I know you can get glucosamine for cats, i certainly take the human version and find it effective. I suppose anti inflammatories during the acute phase are the best line of treatment so the vets the best one to advise in this instance. Hope your vet visit goes well

Thanks, I have been looking at those products this morning, going to mention it to my vets at the appointment this afternoon.Im hoping he will get some pain relief and they don't have to do the second op right away. I knew it was a possiblity but he has been through so much this year I wanted him to have a break from it all.

Izzie
