worming

Hi all

I took in a stray on Sunday evening. She has been living in my sister's boyfriend's mom's garden for the last few weeks, she was unable to take her in because of her dog, but gave her shelter and food and water. but the little cat was just desperate to get inside a warm loving home. I had my own cat put to sleep a few weeks ago and when i saw her i just couldnt leave her outside a moment longer.

She is very underweight and had fleas. His mom gave her frontline and she is flea-free now and she said she had given her worming treatment. She is a very hungry little girl, on Sunday night she was sick, i'm not sure if the food was too rich for her? we are unsure of her age, but think about a year to 18 months. in general she appears to be in good condition, just very skinny.

she is being taken to the vets for spaying (if she needs it, we are unsure at the moment) and a general check up, but i am concerned at the amount of food she wants. i dont want to deprive her but i also dont want to make her poorly by overfeeding her.

she is such a lovely little thing and she seems to have become quite attached to me - as i am to her. she sleeps on the bed with me, between my legs!

i have never had to worm a cat, so i am unsure of how often this can be done, whether it is actually worms or not, it may be she knows there's food available and she wants to make the most of it.

any advice would be appreciated.

thanks

ps: i forgot to say her name is Daisy

Re: worming

Hiya well done on rescuing Daisy! What food are you giving her and how much is she eating?

Re: worming

Thank you for replying.

I bought some kitten food for her - morrisons own brand as we're not sure how old she is and she had previously been eating canned tuna - but wasnt sure if this was too rich for her?

Last night she ate a whole pouch but she wanted more food, which I didn't give her, apart from a few cat biscuits before I went to bed. The biscuits are go-cat. She had a whole pouch again this morning.
