Scarf's update

Well I have started a new thread now, and will up date day by day hopefully as she progresses....

Today is 5 days post event... she has gone from slim to non-existant chance of survival, being a drip, having a tail amputated, and finally coming home on day 4.... what a change a few days make.

Today she has mostly slept, although I spoilt her this afternoon and cooked some chicken for her.... She is now fast asleep on her heat pad....

No wee's or poo's today, but lots of eating and drinking so she is probably saving it for 2 am, again!

The other cats have hissed at her and not shown much interest in her, but the dog has licked her face and her head, and been very good with her....splitting her time between the injured cat and the kittens (oh yes, I have 5 x 2week old kittens too!

A peaceful day with not much action... C x

Re: Scarf's update

Hello, me again.... this forum is so therapeutic!

I have had feelings of guilt and all sorts, but posting here has helped alleviate some of that, and also so many others who have had similar situations.... I do think the "sitting in the cat litter" debate should be explored...!!!!

Was worrying a little last night as no toilet action.... and she was very quiet...

I moved her to my bedroom over night... and whilst preparing the tray she escaped - under the bed - (nothing wrong with her I can assure you!!!!)

So that was the next fun thing, how to get a cat with a broken pelvis from under the bed!!!! Managed it of course, and sat with her for a bit on my lap...

She did not want to go back in the cage, but the heat pad seems to be the secret!

She had a full night's sleep - well she didn't disturb me... Woke up this morning and had breakfast, and used her litter tray for both requirements... so....

She is now asleep again on her sleep pad... I usually move her to the Hustle and bustle of the house during the day so she can "socialise", but today as we are home all day I might leave her in the bedroom...

She is doing sooo well.....

Thanks for listening x

Clare x

Re: Scarf's update

Clare it's great to hear comments like that about this forum

Even better, of course, is how well Scarf is doing! I guess she's prob in pain sometimes so is sleeping and quiet etc, as I'm sure we would be too if we had a broken pelvis.

Excellent news so happy 4 both of you!!!! Any photos of her?
