kitten vommiting

Hiya

I may be over worrying here but I have a 5m month old ginger tom called Biscuit, everythings going well but this morning when i got up i heard him vommiting. When i got downstairs it was liquid and a redish brown colour. Is this normal?
He's an indoor cat and hasn't changed his food or anything. He seems to be ok now but I just wondered if anybody had any ideas. Should I take him to the vet just to get him checked out anyway?

I will ring the vets when they open to get his advice but I'm such a worrier and can't wait that long!

Sorry i this is something or nothing but he's my first kitten and I do worry about him being happy/healthy.

Any ideas or advice would be great. Thanks in advance.

Donna

Glad you have the appointment. Hope lil one is ok.
Do you have cat grass for lil one? as he is an inside kitty.
What food are you feeding? did it look like some of his food in the fluid?
What colour was the fluid?
Have you got any plant's he has may be nibbling?
Does he get fur ball's?
Sorry for all the questions, just sometimes, other's can help if they know a lil history.

Right verdict from the vet is he has a bad tummy bug. Poor lil fella wasn't very happy when he went in but even worse when he came out! He had his temperature taken, (he really didn't like this) was given an injection of anti-biotics adn and anti-nausea jab. He has more tablet antibiotics and some probiotics along with some special bland food for a few days.

On the up side he does seem a lot perkier this morning and was running round in a giddy mood.

He has to go back in on monday for a check up to make sure he's on the mend but he should be just fine.

I'm glad Biscuit is feeling better.

I'm new to owning kittens too and one of mine had vomitting and diarrhea for a day (it is scary when it first happens).

The vet said her tummy felt a bit thick and she could have managed to eat something she wasn't meant to or chewed on something around the house (I wouldn't be surprised cos out of my two she is the most nosey and even tries sniffing around our dinner plates - naughty!!). The vet gave her an antibiotic injection as she had some mild cat flu symptoms and also gave us some special bland food - Royal Canin - sensitivity control wet food to feed for a couple of days until it cleared up - and it did.

Re: kitten vommiting

I've noticed how almost every cat that goes to the vets gets an anti-biotic injection! Even if its just for a bit of D+V! Doctors wont give them out to humans like that but its different when a vet can charge a fortune for meds. The anti-sickness thing gets me too, obviously the kitty needs something out of its body so let it get it out. Vets get me all worked up!

xx
