Re: Advice - should I bring cat home....?

My cat broke her pelvis about 18mths ago, and this thread has brought all the memories.
Whispa also to start with would try to sleep in her litter tray, I think she was trying to be clean but moving hurt so she thought she would just stay there. She would also occasionally as she was getting better move herself into a position that hurt, so she scared us occasionally with some sudden whimpers.
She improved alot over the first couple of weeks, then the problem was trying to stop her jumping about.
She has since made a full recovery, well apart from a slight limp and a little stiffness after sleeping. She is also happy to be in the house a lot more.

I am so pleased for you both that she is now home and on the mend.

Just thinking aloud..... maybe the cat litter is more comfortable and supports the cat's rump & hind legs better, rather like beans in a bean-bag?

That would be an interesting topic for a new thread. It is odd how very poorly cats take to their litter tray instead of their bed, mine have done the same in the past.

Perhaps it's in times of stress...cat shows, illness?

No mines does this too, quite happily!. Just Poppy. well I actually found the dog sitting crouched in it t'other day but that's probably just a "Snoop" thing.

So pleased cat is home and is peeing and pooing and I am sure you have made the correct decision. x

Re: Advice - should I bring cat home....?

I had a cat with a broken plevis - total recovery after three weeks confined almost 24 hours a day in a large cat carrier. It was difficult having to shut her in the kitchen and just leave her, no way I could have coped otherwise without giving in and letting her out, but it really was well worth it.
