Kittens eating adult food.

I have weaned my hooligans onto the Purely range by P@H (sods law I have loads of whiskas wet food left) but I also picked up some adult food in the range to see what they where like on it. Well they seem to be loving it (who could blame them Tuna & prawns for tea tonight!)

I have compared both of the ingredients and there doesn't seem to be much difference so do you think it is okay for them to still be eating it?

Oh and Timmy is 15wks old and Tigsy is 11 wks old.

Re: Kittens eating adult food.

Well I have started giving Dorrie some adult wet food. Reasons being that from other threads I have read the opinion seems to be that kitten food is a gimmick and the ingredients in both kitten and adult food are the same. Having looked at the labels in shops myself I tend to agree with this, hence why I have changed Dorrie over.
She isn't entirely on adult food yet, as I am still gving her some kitten pouches, the same as you ( P@H Purely ), and she has James Wellbeloved dry Kitten food.

Hope this helps a bit

Re: Kittens eating adult food.

Glad I'm not the only one doing this then I don't get the whole different food stuff to be honest but the hooligans refuse to eat Whiskas now they have had a taste of the good stuff.

Mind you Timmy could just eat and eat and is on about 5 meals a day. Hopefully it is just worms that is causing this

Re: Kittens eating adult food.

Not a problem, I promise

Years ago there was no specific kitten food: breeders used canned adult and there was a much smaller range. Our cats then did well

Re: Kittens eating adult food.

me too I've changed all their food over to adult, especially as I have 2 adult cats, they all tend to eat each others food anyway!
