Vaccination Follow-up
Well we're just back from the vets and I have to say I'm really impressed with them. 1st appointment of the day and we were taken about 15 mins early so no sitting around waiting. Really nice friendly vet with a soothing voice which helped settle both Mishchief and Trouble so quickly.
A really through check of them both and confirmed both are def girls as I'd had my doubts that Mischief was possibly a boy. Both in fab condition, ![]() I asked the question over how often to vaccinate and he was open that there is so much varying advice out there on it. He advised that if I intend to use a cattery they would most often specify the requirement to follow the manufacturers guidance. So there was no push from the vet to get it done annually. Also as I wasn't sure to go all out and get the full vaccination recommended for outdoor cats as I plan for mine to be indoor he explained the leuk vaccination could be done later though obviously I would have to pay higher amount for that alone would be about £16. which isn't a lot to pay at the time if I decide to let my kitty's out. Discovered why my vets was so much cheaper than some for vaccinations, he explained the kittens 1st are subsidised, I don't know how many vets get that though, and boosters are more expensive. In total I was £34 for 2 kittens vaccinations, not bad at all I think. Plus I came away with a nice little goodie bag for each kitten of a toy, little book with kitten info and 4 free food samples (not sure if I will use as not the food I'm currently using) but all good ![]() Em & sleepy mischief & trouble after their big adventure |

Re: Vaccination Follow-up
He was a lovely vet. I've used the vet pratice in the past when I had a dog with diabetes which involved lots of visits. Have to say they have always been amazing so glad after a 4 yr gap to find that going back they were still fab. The kittens got loads of attention from the reception staff and like I said the vet I saw was lovely and he was happy to answer my piles of questions and gave very good impartial advice on what to look for with pet insurance plus I got 4 weeks free through the vets for pet plan which is useful to give me some time to look around and see who is really best to go with.

Re: Vaccination Follow-up
Yeah I think its really important to feel comfortable with your vet. My vet has also offered me the 4 weeks free insurance with Petplan and I have until next week to make my mind up if I want it or not. They seem to be the best but they are also the most expensive (understandably). Not sure what to do ... hmmm
