I seen that page, there's a full page somewhere on that site about the kitten in the second pic. Trouble I'm having is the actual construction of the brace, as the brace featured is obscured by the bandaging

My first ever cat had legs similar to that when he was born. He was the smallest in the litter, but we never braced his legs, just massaged them every day, and gently moved them back into position when he was feeding as much as you could and it just got better a little bit every day. He did have a tendancy to drag his back legs behind him and had bald feet for a few weeks, but as he grew they did untwist.

A breeder friend had a kitten with a front leg like that. It also came right by itself, although she did bandage it when he was about 4 weeks old just to give the leg a bit of strength, but she only used that vet wrap and some padding, it wasn't braced.

Hello Skooshbag - sorry to read / see the image of your poor kitt with the twisted legs.

I have to share with you that once, I had a kitten born with a bent forelimb. At the time, my vet gave me some serious choices. One of these options was physiotherapy. With a little massaging every day and normal exercise, it came right on its own and by the time my kitten was eight weeks old, he was romping about with brothers and sisters and you could never tell that he ever had anything wrong with him.

Its quite possible for your kitten's limbs to gradually come right again.

Sound like you have a decent vet. The vet I saw was all up for having her put to sleep.

Well to be honest, that was one of the options my vet gave me but I probably had such a look of horror on my face that she gave it more thought and proposed surgery or physio.

just a little update, kitty appears to be fairing a bit better. Past couple days I have been massaging and streching her legs, Watching her today she seems to be bringing them a bit further forward when moving but she's still dragging them. Time will tell

Yay!!! Watch this space. Although it looks very dismaying at first, your kitten will be ok by the sound of things. Its still very early days.

Hi i donno if its the same for dogs as it is for cats but i had a pup from my litter whos legs was exactly the same...there is no difference in ur kittys legs to how one of my pups legs was....i was told by the stud dog owner (who breed and show ) that it is common and they will straighten themselfs out...by the time he was 6 weeks old they went straight all by themselfs...but they said if they dont seem to be going straight in a week or so then get little splints and put them on. ( wich i didnt have to do )

the pup i had wiv the legs the same as ur kittens legs was given to my sister because they loved him so much nomatter wat and he is perfectly normal like any other dog today wiv perfect straight legs.
