Unhappy Blood in Vomit?

I hope someone can help?

Tonight our Asian boy, who is now just over 6 months old vomited, which is not like him at all, but after the food came up just blood followed...

What is it?

I am obviously going to get him to the vet as soon as possible, but in the meantime, is there anything I can do to help????

Hahahaha!
Mind you, he's not alone, I've heard of a beetroot-munching cat before.
