the vet said it could also be thryoid problems im not asking for a medical opinion just if anyone has had same situation and did your cat start eating again?

Hi - just a quik response as about to start work!
It very much depends on the cat - some cats are very shy and just absolutely refuse to eat at all while being hospitalised- no matter what you offer!Your vet may resort to sending her home as long as she is stable and see if she will eat at home - im sure your nurses will trying her with everything they can think of and sometimes cats just find it to stressful being away from home on top of feeling rubbish. It may also be that if she has liver issues she may be feeling a bit nauseous even though she is not being sick.If you do get her home try warming her food whether its her own meat, chicken, fish.Hope this helps.x

Re: cat not eating liver problem

thanks for your reply

ive got her home now along with special food and syringes lol which shes completely gone mental over

i tried giving her food in her bowl first but she turns away from it

looks like im going to have a struggle with the syringe but even if its only little and often its got to better than nothing

monday shes going back to see how shes doing but the vet is stumped at the moment as the tests have come back clear

Sorry, I couldn't reply privately as your space is full.

Slow is OK, as long as she's getting something.

Ask the vet to test for the common viruses, it's expensive but may give you an idea whats wrong.

Usually blood tests, they can also do swabs or faeces samples depending on what they're looking for, it can work out expensive.
