what is happening to my cat?

I have a 15 year old cat, who does often go into very deep sleeps, but on sat, in one of her deep sleeps, she started howling, weeing, opened her bowels and seemed to be in terrible pain. we put her on a blanket on the floor and thought her time had come. Her body seemed to be all contorted and eventually when it passed, she lay lifeless ( we actually thought she,d passed away) for few mins then started to come round. About 30 mins later she got up, then went and ate as though nothing had happened. Was hoping it was a one off, but same thing happened again last night. Its horrendous to witness and i dont want her to have any more. I,m assuming i will probably have to have her put to sleep, but yet once she,s got over it, she's the same as usual. Has anyone experienced anything like this. I cant see that its a seizure because her body seems too rigid.

Thanks for any advice

I am really sorry to hear your cat is poorly.
I think you may need to pay the vet a visit, seizures can come in all different forms so maybe worth checking with your vet.
Also another idea wonder if your cat may have eaten something toxic ?
Please keep us updated on any news good luck, you must be really worried.

Re: what is happening to my cat?

Keep her in for a couple of days so you can monitor whats she is eating. This would help rule out if she had been eating poisonous plants/fungi etc..

I mentioned just in another thread that autumn time fungi is prolific due to the humidity, light intensity, nutrients that promote mycelium growth.

xylitol is deadly for dogs, not sure about cats. Found in many chewing gums.
