Another Dry Food Question

Hi everyone
I know loads of you feed your cats on the premium dry foods from pet shops and purchased on line but I was just wondering what you think of Iams dried kitten food. Looking at the ingredients it seems OK to me, ie fairly high chicken content and not full of cereals. The adult Iams has higher cereal content and I would def think again when kittens get older. I know it is probably not the best but of the supermarket brands available do you think it is OK? Does anyone else feed their kittens on this? I feed half Iams and half Hi-Life. Only asking because I need to be able to get food from supermarkets because I am so busy / disorganised and if I run out and cannot get the kitties food locally will be another thing to stress about!!!

Iams test on animals so on that basis I wouldn't even look at the ingredients list, tbh.

Totaly with you on that.
I don't like dry anyway, arn't you supposed to measure out a daily amount for the weight of your cat. If so, when you are giving two different products arn't you messing with their daily intake?

It's only a guide, really. My cats have it left out for them to self regulate & they do that well with a mixture of brands in a bowl for variety. I'm happy with the results.

I wouldn't bother with Iams either - there are loads of very good quality dry foods for your kittens - try Applaws, Bozita, Arcana, Orijen.... no cereal is best, and I don't think Iams kitten is value for money. Better buying bulk and saving money on great healthy products.

I personally only feed my Asian and Bengal kittens wet food, but because we have a gannet little Asian boy in our midst I suppliment his diet with dry food from the list above!

Re: Another Dry Food Question

Hi guys
Thanks for your responses, I certainly didnt know that about Iams. Have googled this and am quite shocked. Will def be looking at other dried foods now. Reason I need to use dried food at all is because I am out of house for long time and need to leave food out for them.
