Smile For all with kitty tummy troubles (diarrhea)

Misty has always had problems with her tum and can only have prescription foods (dry) and the wet she does not like.

I have been mainly feeding her on white fish and rice but yesterday we tried to add a bit of mashed pumpkin. The results were fantastic! Try it. I also hear butternut squash has the same effect.

Re: For all with kitty tummy troubles (diarrhea)

Hi it is very good, I make my own raw recipe from Instincts tc, my Baloo had kidney probs, I use pumpkin/butternut squash/yam in his diet. He would not eat any of the prescription food from the vet & was getting thin, so I tried this & he is beautiful now.
They believe a cat needs protein (good standard), hence muscle meat, the vet's food was pork/animal derivitives etc, I try to give him as lil aditives as pos as to not overwork his kidney's, when he get's fussy I pop a lil applaws (with pumpkin) in to start him off again.
A chicken wing once a week or fortnight (checking he is not constipated before hand), to keep his teeth clean.

Does Misty have cat grass? that is good for them, especially if Misty is an inside cat?

Try not to give too much fish, it's good if a cat is not eating,(as anything is better than them starving) but not all the time.

Oh yes she constantly runs out to eat the grass, i let her have a nibble on it.

Do you think she may be okay with cat food mixed with pumpkin/butternut/yam ? I am just worried I upset her again. I tried raw feeding but it just ran through her.

Try her with a lil just make sure she dosn't get constipated. Yam (sweet potatoe) not ordinary potatoe.
I have been using the yam as pumpkins are hard to come by this time of the year (never use sweet tart pumpkin).
The butternut squash is very expensive but ok if you are using it anyway.
I have had a great Jack the lantern miniture pumpkin harvest & they are all ripening up lovely so his next batch will be all home grown.
