Re: How much to feed kitten?
They both won my hearts the day I went to look at them. And the fact that they're so different...! (Megan the tabby curled up between my legs and just looked up and me and fell asleep, while Gracie the black and white looked at me as though to say 'I was *playing*! Who do you think you are?!" and then promptly went back to trying to put her head up the radiator when I put her down
)Is there any particular wormer people recommend? I picked up some syrp I can give them from Tuesday (when they're 8 weeks), but not sure whether there's anything better I can get, or whether to wait the extra 2 weeks till they go to the vets for their vaccinations. Sorry for all the questions ![]() |

I too go on here at work ![]() I feed all my cats & kittens Royal Canin dry food and leave it down all day. Cats rarely over-eat anyway. Make sure you leave plenty of water down when feeding dry food. I would also supplement their diet with treats such as pilchards, cooked chicken, white boiled fish etc. Dry food can sometimes make sensitive kitties have dandruff due to the lack of moisture and the additional oily fish helps with their coats! As for worming - Panacur paste or syrup is fine Btw - your kitties are beautiful! Its no wonder you fell in love with them straight away!! Have you had kittens & cats before? If not, and you need advice we are all very friendly and happy to help ![]() I love the names Megan & Gracie!! |

Re: How much to feed kitten?
Thanks for all the help and the welcome everyone
![]() I've been reading up on the forums and the Orijen food sounds very good, so I was thinking of moving them onto that when I'm about halfway through the Felix and IAMS I've bought as that's what the breeder's using so it's not too much of a shock to their system. I was thinking of giving them treats of fish and chicken, so that's reassured me. I have had cats before, but not for about 4 years... I lived up in Middlesbrough, and when my ex and I split up, he got them. Now I'm living here and settled, I've decided that I miss having cats too much, so I'll probably still need to ask lots of questions as this is the first time I'll really be doing the bulk of the looking after on my own rather than being the one who does the easy parts. I spoke to the breeder tonight and I'm collecting them on Sunday, so I'll ask about worming when I go, and I've got an appointment booked for the weekend after they're 9 weeks old to get them both vaccinated. It was actually my other half came up with the names. The breeder had named them random names and after I saw them I decided they needed proper girls names, and couldn't think of anything, and we were laid in bed one with the lights out one night and suddenly he came out with "What about Megan and Gracie?", and it just fit so perfectly with their personalities. Thanks again! |
