Advice on vet problem please

Hi, my cat goes to vets every month for injections for an allergy she has, my hubby took her this month as the allergy causes big bleeding breaks in her skin around neck and she has the injection so as not to scratch for the month we had a new vet, just out of collage today and she gave her two injections none which were for anti scratch , didnt clean the wound at all just said bathe with salt water, usually my cat does quite well on what the usual vet gives her , i looked in on her an hour after coming home and she was covered in blood the woman had not give her the anti scratch, i would like to complain as its a bigger mess now than before she went, she also charged more than our usual vet and did very little to help my baby, would i have the right to complain any advice would be most helpful, sorry its so long

Yes you have every right to complain about the Vet jeanie,
If your not happy with the way your cat has been treated then why shouldn't you complain you pay for the treatment for your cat and should expect the right treatment

Re: Advice on vet problem please

It may be worth consulting another vet,she may not need to have these jabs, there may be an alternative treatment. She could be allergic to her food,or something else, seems silly to me that they have been treating a undiagnosed condition for so longsome people stay with their vet out of loyalty, but they should not be afraid,or feel bad about a second opinion from another vet.has she been treated for fleas??these can cause a allergic reaction.one of my moggies has a flea allergy and will get sore and scabby if bitten. Also ive had a lot of bad experiences with young, junior vets overreacting and perscribing unnessasary treatments.

Re: Advice on vet problem please

Thanks for the reply Clare i shall ring the vets tomorrow and say im not happy about her treatment, you know this might sound silly but my hubby went straight on from taking the dogs out wellies and all, im sure they think we have little money and thats why she dosent get good treatment, we live in the country and dogs and hubby get messy when out, but we have been paying £41 a mth for the last three years ,surely that should tell them something, i will get a second vet somewhere else to look at her im sick of the bad treatment she gets and another thing i dont like is they shave right over the sore which is about 2 inches long and 1/2 inch wide, and she screams every time shes now running from us she was a ferel years ago and all the weeks mths we spent getting her to love us seems to have gone after taking her today, thanks clare.
