Kitten with two different coloured eyes

I am getting a kitten in two weeks time, she is a moggie and grey and white. I have been sent some recent photo's of her (taken when she was 5 and 6 weeks old). In the photo's she has one green eye and one very blue eye, when we visited her at about 4 weeks old both of her eyes were blue.

I have googled but all I seem to come up with is pure white cats with different coloured eyes and perhaps a link to deafness.

Her left eye is blue and that side of her face is white, the right eye is mainly surrounded by grey.

Anyway I am just wondering if anyone has ever had or heard of a kitten like this and if it means anything? I did wonder if perhaps the green eye had changed colour earlier than the blue one but would they not normally change at the same time?

I am just curious really,

Thanks.

It may be she will end up with 2 green eyes, if they started both blue and only one had turned. For instance I am getting an Egyptian Mau kitten (4 days!) and their eyes always start out amber then change to pale green as they get older.

That's what I thought because I expected her eyes to change colour but I thought 5 weeks was a bit eary for that and also thought it was odd that only one has changed colour. I don't know if it's usual for one to change colour before the other one or not. Thanks for replying.

Their eyes usually change at 6 weeks old. One eye can change before the other. I once had a ginger and white cat with odd eyes and she was deaf on the blue side, which is common with odd eyed cats. Generally, it is white cats that suffer deafness, most other cats are like that through trauma.

There's an excellent article here:
White Cats, Eye Colours and Deafness
It goes through all the White cat/deafness stuff and then explains other colours of cat which can have odd eyes.
