Runny bottom

Hello everyone

I really need some help.

I have 2 kittens, one is in perfect health. The other one...from the same litter is healthy in everyway except she has diarreah. She has had it for 2 days but we thought it was because we changed the food. However, I just noticed her go do a poo....so i went to check her bum and I noticed a few spots of blood. Now I am worried.

I feed her a mixture of dry and wet food and she had kitten milk and water. She is perftly healthy in every other way...running around, playing, etc. Her sister is fine too.

Could it be worms? Could it be an intolerance?

Has anyone experienced these things before? Don't want to lose her

When my partner gets back from work, I will take her to the vets...so please don't nag me about that....I just want some reassurance that its probably something trivial

Thanks

Re: Runny bottom

It could just be stress of moving home or like you say a change in food she is used to. I would of said just put her on boiled chicken for a few days to firm up her stools and settle her tummy but as you have booked an appointment at the vets its best to take him/her advice! Hope she is ok, Im sure its nothing to worry about.

Re: Runny bottom

Just to let people know who might be using this for reference. We took Chilli to the vets and she said that it was probably because the kitten milk we were giving him ws too rich, so we should stop that immediately. I had thought it could be this anyway so had started to water it down....and I didnt want them drinking it anyway but kept them on the diet that the previous owners had put them on so as not to upset them, but its a relief he isnt on it now. Anyway he is much better now.....poo almost normal!

We also discovered that Chilli is a boy, as my partner and I both suspected, not a girl as we were told lol. So we have a boy and girl kitten hee hee.

I'm pleased that Chilli is feeling better and has his gender sorted out

It usually is something simple but you need to be extremely careful with young kittens as they do downhill extremely fast.

Re: Runny bottom

Yes, its nice to know....but now I need to replace his pampered princess bowl with something more appropriate!

Now, next week they both have to go for their INJECTIONS! Although they were both very well behaved on Tuesday so should be ok.
