Thursday update on nasal bleeding
Cat had several tests at University Vet School Thursday. All were clear. There was no other cancer detected in her body. She will start radiation next week.
Her oncologist says cats with this cancer treated with radiation have an average survival rate of 1 1/2 years of quality life. Some longer, some less. The decision has been made. Thank you for all of your responses and good wishes. I agree that the person who loves the cat will know when its time has come. However, it can be a heart-wrenching wait. |

Re: Thursday update on nasal bleeding
Thanks for good wishes. They are always appreciated. Cat will have two weeks of treatments. She will live at the vet clinic during the week, and I will pick her up on the weekends. I will continue posting because this will be a learning experience for me and maybe others too. There will be some side effects. Apparently the tumor is extensive in her nasal cavity. I talked to the radiologist today. She was encouraging, and I have the feeling that, though this is our last hope, she will be in good hands.
Presently cat is doing very well, very hungry and content. |
