7 week old kitten-help needed

Hi

I am new to this and new to kittens. We got 2 lovely kittens last week . The boy is eating well but we have not managed to get the girl to eat. She has been drinking water and cat milk.
She was wormed a week ago and the vet said she looked well.
She is small compared to her brother but is just as playful and looks well.

She has tried to eat cat litter!

Any advice?

Watch her for eating cat litter, as certain types are toxic.

You could try her on some smelly white fish. You can get a big back of frozen white fish from Lidl at a very low price and just defrost one at a time. I also cook it in the microwave for 2 minutes.

If that fails, you could get a couple of tins of feline a/d from the vet, its not cheap (about £1.50 at tin) but I've never known any kitten or cat refuse that yet

I dont know about the crystal ones but I know that if they ingest clumping litter that it clumps in their tummies and causes big problems and large vet bills!

Re: 7 week old kitten-help needed

Just taken her to the vets. Taken her off cat milk and he has given some sensitive cat food.
She seemed interested and licked a little off my finger. We will take her back if not eating within 24 hours.
I am worried about cat litter now- it is Catsan.
Should we change it.

Thanks everyone, Lara is my 5 year old little boys cat and I feel like she is another baby.

Re: 7 week old kitten-help needed

You can always save your Catsan one for when they get a bit older and stop trying to eat it. It's quite a common thing that most kits do
