Re: Is tinned tuna too salty?

know i just kinda see what they like or might like and mostly they love it-thank god, just thinly grated cheese sprinkled over the top-it just fills them a bit more and great for expectant mums-you always go hell for leather to feed your cats the best of a varied diet and feed your humans something really lame-and begrudge doing that

Re: Is tinned tuna too salty?

Mercury levels in tuna are not a big concern if it is fed as a treat or part of balanced diet, but tuna does not provide the necessary level of vitamins, sodium or calcium to be fed as a complete meal or as a primary ingredient in meals.

Served as a treat tuna in brine or springwater is fine but serving as a significant part of a cats diet is not a good idea.

We give ours drained tuna chunks when we have tuna ourselves but that isn't very often, if we didn't give them their own they'd be taking it off our plates!
