I bought some spot on for the dog yesterday and was horrified to read that it is very poisonous to cats and they have to be kept apart for 72 hours. Obviously I didn't use it as the cats get in the dogs basket (with the dog!) and the dog gets on the cats cushions (with the cats!) Why is this stuff toxic to cats? What's the difference between cat and dog flea treatment?

Some pet shop bought stuff can be lethal for cats,youd be best to stick to frontline,as this is safe for both,and works better also.

I did hear of a flea treatment killing cats a while ago. think it was called zodiac.
I agree with clare, stick to the frontline,its worth the extra couple of quid.

Thanks, i was probably trying to save the odd quid - I'm takin all three cats for jabs on Tuesday so will pick up some stuff for itchy old cleo at the same time....x

i use frontline combi as it reats houes as well no need to spray the house!

You can't beat the frontline. Love the fact that it deters ticks also!

Been to the vets tonight and got front line for three cats one dog and wormers for all! Two cats had innoculations as well, total bill £158!!! Don't get me wrong they are all worth every penny Just can't eat now for the rest of the month, we love value beans LOL

maybe you can get a gas mask off ebay lol
