Right............scary problem here

In all the year's that I have had cats, all my life basically I have never had a problem like this and I think it is a deffo one for the vets tomorrow morning!

Has anyone ever had a cat with its Anus come outside it's body literally!

I thought it was a growth at first but this raw red lump has come out were the anus is almost as though the cat's insides itself have come out from that orifice. I have never seen anything like it before. The cat has an ongoing poo problem that is already being tested but I was horrified to see this red blob were the poo hole should be.

I know it's shocking and will be surprised if anyone else has had it, but if you have please shout up now!!!!!!! I'm going to the vets anyway and the cat does not appear to be in obvious pain with it must it must be so uncomfortable

Yes my Grandma's cat got that... the vets sorted it with a little opp...

I think she had problems with going to the toilet aswell, but it got sorted pretty quick though!

Try not to worry too much!

Never seen it myself, but isn't it called a prolapsed rectum? Sounds very similar if not the same

Re: Right............scary problem here

One of my cats about 20 years ago had the same problem - sounds like a similar size too... he was 9 when it happened..
he had an op straight away and lived to be 17 yrs old so its nothing too nasty for them
