Re: Right............scary problem here

The trouble is trying to convince my vets that she has a prolapse, because it only bulges slightly. Unless it's protruding a lot more they don't do anything about it.

Re: Right............scary problem here

Vets don't like to do invasive surgery for what they see as a "minor" thing - could it be that the prolapse will work itself back in again?

I once noticed one of my girls with a little pink button like thing on her posterior after leaving the litter tray but a day afterwards, her little tush was back to normal. Mind you, could be that she did not actually have a real prolapse ...

Re: Right............scary problem here

Sounds like that's what it is in Nicola's case, in view that the 'sausage' has been retracted whenever she has gone to the vets. This b*gg*r was hanging out about an inch and no way would be retracted

The op has now been done and Kismet is having bed and breakfast in Clitheroe and will hopefully be coming home tomorrow. The vet did say that the outcome could go either way and that the 'sausage' may find its way out again, they also want to make sure that she can poo normally. She is on very strong antibiotics and anti-inflamatory cream. Cant wait to get her home its like one of your children being in hospital, even tho I don't have kids
