Hi, its been 4 weeks since the kittens were born. (three in total)Two are feeding well, eating both wet and dry and suckling from mummy too. BUT one refuses to eat anything. She has always been the weaker one, prefering to sleep other than play, but she just won't eat. She is still suckling but she thinner than the other two now. I tried everything (fish, meat, wet biccies mixed with milk) but she just spits it straight out. I just don't know what to do anymore. I thought about worming her, but she doesn't have the pot bellied look that comes with worms. ANY advice would be appreciated. Cheers

I always worm my kittens at 2,4,6,8,+ weeks,i either use mashed up kitten meat,or soaked kitten biscuits mashed up.Some take to it quicker than others.Try smearing a little food on his lips/paws so he licks it off,to get the taste.you could also give a milk substitute(from vets)which you can give on its own and use to mash foods with.

Dilly put the weaker kitt on the best teat and supervise so she gets a good feed,and all being well she will gain at least a little strength and also syringe feed her with a little egg yolk mixed with a little honeyYou need to do something because the others will have sensed her weakness and she'll just keep getting pushed out-it is very much survival of the fittest The others are eating as well so they don't need mum as much,also a little sardine mashed into a little rice pudding-served at room temp might help some

Thanks for all your help. Last night, I mixed some kitten food with cat milk and syringed some into her. She wasn't happy about but at least it when in. Today, I saw her attempt to eat some catsan litter. Ive been reading your posts and others and I will worm them today as also get some a/d from the vets. She is very playful today so fingers crossed she will follow the others.

I agree SK's tips are good there. I have had kittens that would not touch food until five or six weeks old, so there is time yet, but if the baby is very small it will need help to gain on the others

Not a stupid question DD-but no-no white of the egg either-too slimy and they don't like it(or at least ours don't), sounds like she's already made some progress-good to read and your obviously doing a great job DD
