nasal bleeding- new update

nasal bleeding
Cat was diagnosed with cancerous tumor in her nose. Vets cleaned it out, so she has temporary relief. Will look into radiation when biopsies are back.
This vet hospital is well known for success with radiation, may be able to extend cat's life with quality for 1-2 years. Costly.
At least I finally know the problem.

So sorry to hear the news - i was hoping for you that it wouldnt be as serious as that.
But its good news she can have another 1-2 years

((((Big hugs to you both)))))

Will your insurance cover the costs of the treatment?

No, I don't have pet insurance. I should hear about biopsies tomorrow, then will try to decide what to do. Cat is comfortable since procedure yesterday, though it won't last.
Thanks for your concern.

After reading your last post and this one-get you now, Oh Seven,i'm sorry i'll be blunt-unless i was mega rich-i'd make the choice-1-2 yrs is great but it's not guaranteed and as i said the stress of an op can't be good, but i dunno how your fixed financially if your at a fab place then go for it-super strokes for your cat and if i were near you i'd make you a strong cuppa and a hug

Re: nasal bleeding- new update

It would not involve an operation on the cat. It would be two five day treatments of radiation. She would stay at the university. I would pick her up on the weekends. This place specializes in treating animals with cancer. I am still waiting for biopsy results. That will tell me how fast the tumor will grow.
With the procedure they did on Tuesday where they cleaned out the tumor from her nose, she has been better than she has been for a month. I know it won't last, but she is breathing clearly, hungry, acts like her old self. I am enjoying this time with her.
Thanks for the thoughtful notes.
