Daft Q...but worried

I know this may sound daft but im worried and i cant sleep lol.....

Ive been shopping tonight bought the usual, including a refill for a plug in airfreshner, its very very strong, ive not had pets in the house for a while and so im now panicking.....Can a strong airfreshner harm my 10week old kitten, as im too scared to plug the refill in incase it does. He is confined to the one room while im at work and its the room with the airfreshner...

Many thanks in advance, i do apologise for such a silly Q

Re: Daft Q...but worried

I can't see it doing any harm, we have a couple of plug in air freshners and I've never given it a thought before! I would turn it off while you are out though!

I bought some of the big air fresners which release a squirt of fragrance every few minutes one of my cats is very sensitive to this and kept sneezing,i stopped using then now shes fine.

Concidering that air fresheners is a chemicals - and very strong ones - could be toxic; not only for animals but for humans too. Just imagine this poison goes into your or kitten's lungs and stays there for days....

Re: Daft Q...but worried

my dog is allergic to the air freshner stuff especially the auto ones so i try not to use them he sneezes all the time and if it is a strong one he gets a really sore crusty nose took me a while to find out what it was that done it but eventually we discovered that it was them, and i never used them around puppies either.

Re: Daft Q...but worried

oooh dear see ive always used deodorants/perfumes etc in my bedroom or bathroom, and as i said.... just did the normal shop and picked up my refill... I think what ill do is plug it into the room next door as it is strong it will hopefully scent through but not enough to harm him. Maybe it wasnt such a daft Q after all..... Thankyou everyone for your thoughts xx
