Re: Help please - kittens eye completely cloudy white

Just had a quick google, and I found someone with similar problem on an ask the vet site. The vet that replied suggested the after affects of a calici or herpes infection (cat flu) or it could be some kind of trauma to the eye.

Has your vet suggested any tests if he thinks it is leukaemia? I would go for a second opinion somewhere else and see what another vet says about it.

Re: Help please - kittens eye completely cloudy white

Just said to go back fri - has given me some antibiotics, didnt do any checks or tests but the kitten is only 2 and half weeks old so that could be why - think he said about leukaemia as we lost a kitten at 1 day old. He doesnt think its trauma or infection as there is no inflammation or damage to the eye, also the eye was normal sunday night and like this monday morning - happened so quick! Since putting the antibiotics in the eye has gone from cloudy white to bloodshot, not sure if that is good or bad sign - think i may have to go for 2nd opinion!

Re: Help please - kittens eye completely cloudy white

hi, my cats eye went cloudy white in the space of an hour n a half on tuesday night. We took him to the vets yest and it turns out he has a hyperthyroidism which means he has a hormone inbalance, this caused him to have high blood pressure which led him to go blind in his left eye. Have they done any blood tests? Although my cat is 12 it could still be a possibility that your kitten could have this, as not all cats are old who suffer with this. Ask your vet about this as if not treated can lead to alot more problems.
