Hi guys,

My persian Kitten, about 7 month old, is suddenly developing purple eyelids (or purple lacrimal papilla). the part of the skin where the eyelid is attached to is becoming dark purple. I think her eyes look sick, she is not complaining much though. is that normal? oh and i just cleaned her eyes yesterday from the tears with a wet cotton, so I don't see why she got so much dry tears in her eyes already.

Haven't got a clue - a trip to the vets me thinks. As for the tears I believe Persians eyes do need cleaning everyday.

I clean my persians eyes everyday, but i've not heard of them turning purple??

Maybe it would be best to take him to the vets

Mine is a different breed of persian. they are not flat faced. usually their eyes stay clean.
