Cass is 1yr old and she has always been really fussy, never liking 'cat food' - as a kitten, we struggled to get her to eat anything - she would only eat porridge for a while. We managed to get her to eat chicken and coley/ white fish and recently, she will only eat the white fish. she wont even eat tuna

I took her for her check up yesterday and the vet quite rightly said that she has to have a balanced diet to get all the nutrients. I then bought her some Sheeba, as it looked as if it had real bits of fish in - when i opened it and gave it to her, she walked off in disgust and the same this morning.

Has anyone had problems like this and can anyone recommend anything she may eat? she hates the processed cat food and she cannot afford to lose weight. She is a house cat, along with Syd (see other threads for his story about prescription foods)

Hey your from great ashby, i used to live in bedwell
But now i live in welwyn, and my dog was always fussy about what it eats like we have to give it a humans dinner because it doesn't like dog food, but my cats just eat normal cat food i think if you lace the cat food with bits of white fish then it will slowly get used to both ?? just a suggestion

Since my post, we did actually try to lace her food with chicken pieces which didn't really work so she was so hungry. I nearly gave in but we held our ground and last night, she ate some whiskas oh so fishy - then finished off her brother's Natures Harvest chicken. I don't want to speak too soon but we may have broken through (fingers crossed) but if she goes back, i'll try your suggestion, cheers

Have you tried raw? It's cheap, effective and isn't processed junk - even Sheba is only 8% meat!

I haven't tried raw as I am not sure where to start. I have Cass on Nature's Menu now - she has always been 'odd' - when she was a kit, she only ate porridge - now she loves Natures Menu (only Chicken, mind) as it is similar consistency(paste) and bland. I tried her on the fish variety tonight and she was livid at me - shot me a furious look and stropped off with her tail wagging. I immediately caved in and got her the chicken one, and she came running up to me, purring and lapped it all up!

I tried Syd on High Life 60% tonight as he hates Natures Menu, tolerates Nature's Harvest (but it has added sugars) so i thought I would give High Life a try, even though i disagree with tapioca, and he loved it. I just wish they would both eat the same

we are going away for the weekend and have a guardian angel coming to feed them - she will have her work cut out for her

but going back to your point, i think Syd might, at a push, try raw, but not sure about Cass

any advice would be welcome. I am currently waiting for Your Cat, by Elizabeth Hodgkins, which i have seen recommended about feeding....
