Re: Vaccinations
I don't vaccinate and I don't think vaccination is necessary for indoor cats - unless you need to for showing. For outdoor cats it's more relevant, but even then the general recommendation is moving towards boosters every three years, not yearly. Compared to dogs cats have an increased tendency to develop cancer at injection sites, so I try to save my cat from being poked with needles as much as possible.
My cat has had his kitten vaccinations and won't be getting any more until I see some research that shows how long each vaccine actually lasts. I think a lot of the vaccines actually last a lifetime, but they just recommend a booster every year to make money and to 'be on the safe side'. Personally I think the risk of my cat developing cancer from the vaccines is larger than him catching any of the diseases the vaccines are supposed to protect against.

Re: Vaccinations
Yes, they can. Not just vaccines though, any injection. Google fibrosarcoma for more information. This page for example:The Treatment of Feline Fibrosarcoma with Lipopolysaccharide and Cyclophosphamide;
"Fibrosarcoma remains an intractable and devastating disease both in human and veterinary medicine. In the domestic cat, fibrosarcoma has now been associated with the use of vaccines and the development of these tumours appears to occur in around 0.02% of vaccine injections (Hendrick et al, 1994)" Also this is a good website with loads of articles and links:The Truth About Vaccines For example this article: http://www.truthaboutvaccines.org/docs/VaccineInfo.pdf
