Unusual Cat Deaths

Hi, I had two kittens 8 months old brother & Sister(spayed & Neutered)
Last week My poor little boy got hold of some ear mite solution and ate it, which caused him to foam at the mouth and puke blood, he was rushed to the vets athough unfortunatly died, it broke my heart, it really did! Has any one ever had a situation with ear mite soloution??
Then last tuesday my little girl started getting unwell, her left eye looked larger than her right, and her right eye was leaking, a bloody liquid, which the vet couldnt undersand although gave her meds and she was ok, although then she started walking very strangly, like she was drunk she couldnt seem t hold her own weight and kept falling over, when she first became like this when i held her her head flopped back, I thought i was gunna loose her then, we saw the vets and was given more meds and he was very confused on he situation, her eye started weeping the bloody liqiud again, and her walking did not improve all though she could hold her head up now. Despite ll this she wasfine in herself happily purrring away despite not being able to move much.. Although late Thursday night last week she passed in her sleep I was even more gutted as I lost my two best friends(my cats) both in the same week, it was horrible, although the vet still has no clue although he did say there is something going around that is killing small animals and cats.
It litrally felt like her muscles had gone, she lost alot of weight in those two days aswell it just fell off her. Can anyone shed some light, has this happened to you, or do you know what happened? It was so horrible I keep talking to them, and wish they could be here... Sometimes life is just so unfar

Re: Unusual Cat Deaths

Thank you, Im jus getting use to it(well a much as you ever can) Its very difficult they use to be there al the time, always there for cuddles, and now its so lonely They were my babys They meant the world to me.. Although if we hadnt of got them when we did(8weeks old) they wouldnt of lasted much longer, Tiga my litle boy was riddled with fleas and worms and very skinny, never been in human contact other than feeding.. Poor little thing so we cleaned him up and kept him, he meant loads to me, h was so special because of his ruff start, and my little girl was going to be "Thrown Away!" Some people have no heart!!

Hi Jellybean

So, so sorry to hear of your pain.
It sounds like your little girl had a tumour. ????

It does alarm me how often I hear vets say.. 'it could be this, it could be that'. I get the idea that they really don't understand cats.

I have not heard of anything like that in my neck of the woods.

Hi Hun

I understand how lost and empty you feel? You go over everything in your head thinking was it something you did/didnt do..you search the internet for answers..you feel confused..I know I lost my 6month old bengal on the 12th March. I fell asleep on the sofa that night and he cuddled up with as normal...I woke up in the morning and he had died on top of me. Unexpected, no illness nothing.

So although I can not give you any answers to your questions I can understand and sympathise completely with how you are feeling as I myself still feel the same way.

Try to rest your mind...as long as you know you did everything you could and have a guilt free conscience then try not to beat yourself up. Be thankful of the time you did have with your furballs..and although you'll never forget time is a healer.

Re: Unusual Cat Deaths

Thank you everyone, I do keep going over everything.. Vets can be really helpful sometimes and other time completely clueless Would a tumour cause all that? I wish I knew what had happened to her And my little tiga was such a pain for getting hold of things he shouldnt of.. but why did he have to eat it.. Its so different without them, its horible, but I dont think I could face having anymore cats not anytime soon atleast, my babys were my world and they always will be!
