Cat drooling while feeding him Synulox. Normal?

Hi all. Just syringe fed my cat some Synulox (antibiotic) and while I was doing it he was drooling and shaking his head. I'm guessing from what I've found out that this is because he doesn't like it (even though they are meant to be "palitable"). Is this the case do you think? I gave them to him about 10 mins ago and the drooling has stopped but just wanted to check if this happens to other people when they feed something to their cat they don't like. Thanks!

Re: Cat drooling while feeding him Synulox. Normal?

I often wonder why they say palatable when its only palatable if u like strawberries!! I dont no many cats that do
Ur cat is doing the classic "my god this stuff makes me wanna vomit reaction"
U would think that strawberry flavoured antibiotic drops for dogs and cats would make those brilliant pharmacutical scientists think "hang on a sec perhaps as cats are carnivores we should have shrimp or roast beef flavour!"
Typical lots of brains n not 1 ounce of common sense

Many thanks. I had no idea it was strawberry flavour. I knew it smelled familiar!! I agree, I dont get why it would be made such a flavour for cats but Im glad his reaction was normal and just because he hated the taste! I guess I'd be retching if I had medicine that was chicken flavour lol Thank you for your reply xx

Quite normal. Panacur liquid wormer produces the same effect but is more amusing, kittens froth it out of their mouth both sides and it's white, it looks really comical
