Strange symptoms in kitty

Hi everyone
I took my 8 year old female cat to the vet yesterday because she suddenly started fslling about like a drunk.
Her right pupil is large, green and glassy looking but her left one is just a big black bead which the vet was concerned about. He doesn't seem to know what's wrong with her.
The vet gave her some anti-inflammatory to take until he reviews her on Thursday.
She is no better after two doses of medicine.
Her appetite and fluid intake are the same as usual. She still wobbles about and cannot be left alone...she may try and jump onto a chair and break a bone.
Anyone recognise the sypmtoms?

Re: Strange symptoms in kitty

Thinking about it...if her balance is affected this could possibly be her ears? However if her eye is affected then maybe there is some sort of growth behind it which in turn is affecting her balance? This is quite a toucy subject I suspect so I just wish you good luck and take your vets advise. Please keep me posted how you are getting on.xx

Re: Strange symptoms in kitty

Hi all. Thanks to all of you for your responses. She is still pretty bad on her legs, like those poor cows we see with CJD. I'm convinced she's got something nasty behind the eye and cats4eva, you have a very good point there.. I'll keep you all posted on the thread, it's a learning experience for us.
She's not in any pain but her quality of life is not good. She tried to cross the garden earlier and fell on her side, poor thing.

Re: Strange symptoms in kitty

Hi,
I had two kitties, one passed away about a week ago due to eatin ear mite solution We rushed him to the vet but unfortunatly he died :'(
And the other day my other cat started alking funny, oe eye was swollen just as you said, and she could walk a few steps(very wombly) and would fall over, we got her to the ets and got me meds, she was still like this for two days Sadly passed away last Thursday It felt like all her muscle in her legs had deterioted, it broke my heart, two kitties in a week
I know its a sad thing to tell you,but Im worried you cat may have the same thing.. I was told by my vet there is something going around for small animals and cats. Which unfortunatly is killing them. I hope to god it isnt what my little girl had. Good luck and I hope you find a solution my little kitties were only 8 month old the poor things Can anyone shed some light on my stuations? And has anyone ever had a situation with ear mite solution?

Re: Strange symptoms in kitty

Hi all.
Poor kitty had two fits in the night. We took her straight to the vet and she felt that it was a brain tumour. She put her to sleep immediately.
So sorry to hear about your babies Jellybean. They must have had so much love while you had theM. It is terrible to lose two little ones in so short a time.
Thanks for yor support guys it's been very much appreciated..
