Re: Bad Luck or Bad Breeder?

OMGThis woman sounds like a byb to me,Tracey it's not a bad reflection on you-you simply allowed your heart to rule your head and everyone has been guilty of this human crime on occasion People such as this person totally manipulate and play on someone such as yourself and know exactly how to get what they want,i myself before i knew better would have been naively led by my heart, Know it's not a nice thing to do but needs must, she needs reporting, given that she breeds she has a moral obligation to those animals and their potential families, this is yet again another tragic example of why byb is wrong on every level-how utterly despicable that she exploit these creatures in such a wayOn that note for now definitely BAD BREEDER

Re: Bad Luck or Bad Breeder?

I've spoken to Tracey about this via PM the day before she posted it, so I know this woman has a website and buys registered cats, so AFAIK she is not a backyard breeder.

I questioned why Tracey wasn't offered a replacement kitten - that's a congenital fault which most breeders cover in their contracts (I certainly do). Instead she had to BUY the dad?

She has the morals and manners of an alley cat.
She is not a well known in the Bengal world, which is at least a relief.

Re: Bad Luck or Bad Breeder?

I still say she is a byb-just has a prefix, probably to exploit to people with huge hearts and still should be reported at least to the council/councils she's registered with and then they'll be aware if any future people have the mis fortune of crossing this womans path.

What do you make of this I'm curious of peoples opinions...

I bought an F5 bengal boy who sadly passed away whilst snuggled up to me unexpected of a major heart attack (he had no signs of illness whatsoever) - he literally just went there and then.(he was 6months old).

Then - his Dad had been neutered and was up for sale so it felt right he should come and live with for his retirement and also keep my baby bengals legacy alive in the Allen household...when the breeder arrived with him his eyes were watery but she assured me his immunity was just a little low from stress of moving/hearing queens calling etc but thats all.

Please take into consideration these facts: the breeder had this male bengal for 10 months and had mated him 3x successfully yet he had no immunisations in all of the while he had been with them. Yet he apparently had (on 2 sep occasions) his leuk and aids blood tests done. Also - this watery eye had been like that since they got him and all through the 10months he lived there...to the point that when he was neutered they done a swab and it come back clear??

I had him at my home for less than 24hours when I soon realised that there was something wrong with this poor gorgeous boy. I took him straight to the vets and within 5 minutes diagnosed a bad case of cat flu. He gave him anti-biotics needless to say...he also said that he couldn't say for sure as this was his first meeting with the bengal but that going on his past history it is likely he is a carrier. His advice was to keep him seperate from the other cats and clean where the cat had been etc to try and prevent the other cats/kitten from getting it.

(the bengals faeces were also extremely bloody) which i found quite alarming.

I couldnt risk my other animals getting this (especially my baby siamese) so Im sorry to say I called her with all of this info and she came and took him back home..whilst letting me know (knowing it would upset me) that he would have to be put asleep.

Anyway - I got a call today to say that she was keeping hold of him til she could find out more and that she had put him back in the cattery but she had put one of her queens in with him to see if she caught it...that way she'd know for sure if it was contagious and have a better idea of a way forward for him????

This whole episode has left me slightly confused etc...I dont know whether she has told me lies about things or whatever but something doesnt add up..I am not a breeder just a MAJOR cat lover and I just don't feel that this woman is justifiable to breed cats..She is registered but I think she gives a bad name to all of the loving and perfect breeders out there. I also feel like she has tried to make me feel stupid and convince me that she is ok but deep down I know she isnt. When she talks to you she is so nice and so convincing and very matter of fact..I actually started thinking its me?
Hi what a horrible experience for you,you bought your cat from a registered breeder in good faith and it turned out like this!,there are some very unscrupilous ,bad breeders out there, just goes to show you cant guarantee a good quality kitten/cat even with papers and through a registered breeder! but dont lose faith there are some very good breeders too.
