Feliway - who uses it, why and as it improved things
I have a multi cat household. My female and semiferal get on like a couple. Lick, lick, snugle, snugle.
But my neutered male shows signs of stress and isn't part of their gang, though I think that the sf and him play chase ok. One of his stress signs is back leg kicking his chest. I just wondered if Feliway may help him...... |

i use the spray in the carrier - works a treat. Haven't needed the diffuser but have one just in case.

Re: Feliway - who uses it, why and as it improved things
i find feliway invaluable
I have my own multi cat household which at the moment comprises of 1 - persian lady, gets on with everything and everyone 2 - moggie lady - seems to assume that everyone is there just to please her 3 - moggie mum, my most recent who i found in a skip, she has 2 weaning kittens at present. on top of those I foster pregnant cats so my other cat residents are: 1 - semi longhaired moggie and her 4 4 week old kittens 2 - tabby moggie - and her 3 1 week old kittens 3 - b&w moggie - guestimating at about 4-5 weeks preggers. Been in rescue for a week and they noticed she had pinked up so brought her to me. She's only been here for a couple of days. I'm taking a break after the last of these ladies are homed so i can concentrate on my own fur (and non - fur) family So.... with all the coming and going, a pup, 2 young kids etc the house can be a high stress area for the newcomers. I find feliway diffusers in each room and the spray invaluable. I do other things aswell to make transition smoothe but i wouldnt be without feliway! |

Re: Feliway - who uses it, why and as it improved things
I used a plugin one a while ago, and thought things were fine so stopped using it.
Lately H was taken ill so I tried it again, and it has been amazing what a difference - he is much more cuddly and easy going (not that he wasn't before but it is even more noticeable). He is on tablets at the mo and even giving them to him is easier.... I will definitely be reordering the refills.... e |

Re: Feliway - who uses it, why and as it improved things
I have 3 cats - Tabitha who is 9, Lucie who is 8 and Seren who is 6 months. 8 months ago Lucie started overgrooming (she has always been highly strung). We have had multiple feliway difusers round the house (like they ever have one room they sleep in!
) and they have had no effect. We now have her on Zylkene and it has been a godsend. Its a little expensive, and if she misses a dose she starts overgrooming, so we are looking for another longterm option for her, but it has been brilliant in calming her down. Shame the feliway didn't work for us. |

Re: Feliway - who uses it, why and as it improved things
I used the diffuser when I first brought Ava home as a kitten and was introducing her gradually to my other cat, Sunday. I use the spray for vet visits...especially if one is going and the other is not. The strange smell from the vet really upsets Sunday and the spray seems to calm her down.
