Question is my cat a sad cat?

hi all , please dont think im daft or strange , but i really think my 2 year old moggie is sad ive noticed for about the last 6 months she never purrs , by never i mean never , she looks ok in her self, she still comes for playtime etc shes eating really well , not being bullied by any of the neighbours cats , she gets on with my 2 dogs or (are older than her)

my question i suppose is , is it ok for some cats not to purr? or is she a sad cat

btw i have the feriway (sp) plug in thingy for happy hormones !! thats for stella not me !

Re: is my cat a sad cat?

Hiya

I just looked up about this, and someone had spoken to their vet about it, and the vet said there was nothing wrong, it was just the cat did not want to purr.

I doubt you have a sad cat, she sounds like she is happy, with getting the attention and eating well

xx

Re: is my cat a sad cat?

I'm sure Stella's not sad My Gizmo rarely purrs and is quite grumpy but I think that's just the way he is. just as some cats don't 'talk' much some don't purr much

Re: is my cat a sad cat?

aww your comment made me chuckle .. stellas not grumpy..infact as we speak shes rubbing up against my 7 year old westie millie who in turn is licking stella on the head so perhaps (sorry no pun intented) shes just not a purrer (SP)

does anyone else use the feriway (SP) plug in ... do you think it really helps with the phahomones (sp.. again ) we have been using it for about 10 months not noticed any change ... but i suppose the change would be noticed if we unplugged it eh?
