HELP.... kitten ill after receiving 2nd vaccs..

My 9 month old kitten got her 2nd vacs earlier this evening, about 3 hours ago and she was fine during and after when we got home, had her full dinner and was playing away as normal. In the last half hour she has changed and looks ill and seems to be in pain, squels when you try to pick her up..
Are side effects normal after these jags as the vet didn't mention it at all????
Really hope that's all it is otherwise I've no idea what's happened to her.
Help - I'm really worried...

Pain is not a normal reaction after a routine vaccination, she needs to be seen by your vet asap.

Some side effects are normal such as being sleepy but I would say being in pain is definitely not. As said above a trip to the vets asap is my advice. Hope she is ok hun x x x

Re: HELP.... kitten ill after receiving 2nd vaccs..

I phoned the vet emergency number, described her state and she said I shouldn't be too concerned, she could just be woozy or sore, but if she is still the same after 12 hours to take her in. Really hope she is right. The poor wee thing is lying in her bed now not even hungry for a bit of ham, one of her favourites.
i hate being worried

Re: HELP.... kitten ill after receiving 2nd vaccs..

just a little update, Molly was a little better this morning, managed to eat a little and have a wee play with one of her toys, and by the time i got home from work she was pretty much back to normal. She's not had any of her mad fits this evening though so I guess she is still a little under the weather, but thankfully nothing worse developed from her symptoms last night.

this sort of reaction is not uncommon, especially with certain vaccines such as Fevaxyn. Glad she is back to normal now.
