Re: Spaying Prices

you can often get a voucher from your local Cats Protection to help with the cost... they would rather help get her spayed than have to possibly help rehome her offspring

for us it is £30 for boys, £38 for girls

Re: Spaying Prices

Depends very much on area - my daughter had their cat spayed last November and it was £45 which I though was expensive as another vet was advertising a special offer at £30 - which is cheap I think.
We are in the midlands!

Re: Spaying Prices

Hi
We paid 40 for Millie to be spayed and microchipped. It was 30 just for spaying.

I'm definitly living in the wrong town, I live Reading in Berkshire and I was quoted £65 for the spay and then was told to expect the cost of antibiotics on top which would take it to just under £100!!!!!!!!!

Why on Earth would you need anitbiotics? I am in Wokingham, and our vets charge £47 (I believe), but we had a voucher from the Cats Protection league for the full amount, so just had to pay for her microchip. Didn't need antiobotics, or even a collar for her.

Re: Spaying Prices

I was told my vet would charge £8, and a bit more if extra drugs were needed.
I ended up paying £38 and that was including the vat so not a bad price atall

Where abouts west scotland are you?

Re: Spaying Prices

My kitten is getting spayed in June and we have been told it is going to cost £78 (I am in Hertforshire).

What I did was to contact all the vets in my local area and speak to them about my cat and what I wanted from the vet, I also got some prices from them.

Then I chose the one that I thought suited me best and went with them.

Re: Spaying Prices

Suburban south London, just a normal small practice... I think it was £65 or thereabouts (including micro-chipping) for the female, about £50 for male.

Re: Spaying Prices

Hey I found out from my local vet that it is going to cost £60 for my kitten to be spayed. Plus the same day she's getting her second vaccination and that costs £26.50. I believe that is reasonable.

Thanks for all the replies everyone
