Really poorly cat
Hi, I am looking for some kind of magic pill for m cat Archie I think, but in the absence of that, some positive words would be hugely appreciated. He was found on Saturday night in a very bad way in our front garden (by our other cat Monty). He is a beautiful ginger and white DSH and is 4 years old. He was not moving and was obvioulsy in huge pain. We rushed him straight to the emergency vet who was able to stabalise him with an IV drip, some pain killers and antibiotics. It transpires that he has broken his pelvis in two places and has a massive hematoma on his stomach. Yesterday the prognosis was good. He was stable and the specialist that he is with said that he may not need surgery, despite quite a bit of displacement. The main worry was whether the nerve leading to his bladder had been damaged, but the signs were good. Today he has gone really down hill.
His breathing is laboured and his bloodpressure is really low. His temperature has also gone down and he has fluid on his lungs. I have been told to expect the worse. I guess I am looking for stories with a happy ending to focus on because at the moment I feel like I am going to vomit I am so worried. Any advice or positive stories will be hugely appreciated. Thanks xx |

Re: Really poorly cat
I am really sorry to hear about Archie, and I can imagine what you are going through. He sounds as though he is in the best place possible and they will give him every chance. Cats are tougher than they look, and have amazing resources, even when things look bleak.
Sending Archie loads of healing vibes, with everything crossed that he pulls through and makes a full recovery. Is there anyway you can get to visit him if they will let you. Sometimes a visit from the ones they love can make the world of difference.

Re: Really poorly cat
Thank you, knowing that people are rooting for Archie means so much. I am just sitting here, feeling sick, with my heart in my mouth, waiting for an update. Every time the phone rings I jump out of my skin. When I have some news I will let you know, I just pray that there is some good news this time. I'm trying to think positive thoughts, but it is so hard.
