Smelly Cat..

My Nana says her cat Sophie, farts alot. Really smelly farts.
She feeds her Brekkies dry biscuits and Whiskas meat. Is it the food that is making her smelly?

Yes.

That food contains a lot of stuff that is hard (almost impossible) for a cat to digest, so naturally she'll have an upset stomach.

Changing to a high quality wet food and stopping feeding dry food will help.

Good wet foods are: HiLife pouches, Bozita, Porta21. HiLife is sold in normal food shops, while the two others are sold online only. I think Tesco also does a version that is good, but I can't remember what it's called - anyone know?

Oh yes - since changing my cats onto better food they rarely fart (or we don't smell it) and their poos are much less whiffy.

EDIT: tesoc's finest - about 3:90 for 12 puuches is the one i think yo are thinking of

mine used to smell as kittens as they was weaned onto whiskers kitten and i didnt want to change and mess there tummys up so young...but now they get a variety of good quality wet food and a fair quality wet food and all is fine now...

mine like the asda tiger biscuits actually and they have had these for a year now, i also give them james welbeloved biscuits so they have a choice. Also i get them natures finest royal cannin...things like that when they are on offer!! thats the only time they get the mega expensive biscuits lol
