Indoor Cat

Afternoon everyone.

Our indoor cat Millie is now 18 months old and he seems a happy soul. However, as we both work we have to leave Millie on his own for most of the day and were considering getting another cat to keep him company.

I guess there's no definitive answer to this but have other's been in the same situation and what did they do? if we do decide to get another cat, should it be a male or female? As mentioned ours is a boy who's been neutered.

Thanks.

Re: Indoor Cat

I have 2 indoor boys and they definately keep each other company a great deal. They aren't from the same litter but have been together since about 3 months old.

I can't give any advice into introductions unfortunately.

Re: Indoor Cat

i have 2 house cats and i think they definatly keep each other company, i have mother and son.
I would concider getting a friend roughly the same age as your cat as i know i had to take one of my cats to the vets and he had to stay in the night and mum cat really missed him she wandered the house calling him.
I dread to think what she would have been like if he didnt come back home.

Re: Indoor Cat

I got my boy, Indy, company and was the best thing I ever did! he has become happier and more confident (even though he was fine before)

We planned on getting a girl, the advert for Misha was for a tabby girl, but he was all boy, now not so all boy lol... but they love to rough and tumble and groom each other, there is 5 months age difference between them

Re: Indoor Cat

Cats are very social animals they love company so my suggestion would be to get another. a male kitten and have him nuetered. before you know it they will be un-seperable....good luck..........CHRIS
